C. Data processing and purposes
- Operation of our Fan Page
- Interaction and communication
The purpose of operating our Facebook Fan Page is to take up contact with users and visitors to Facebook Ireland’s social network and promote interaction and communication. On occasion, we provide information directly about our company and our offerings. This may include past or current events, special promotions and offers, etc.
- User analysis
With the aid of this Facebook Fan Page, we are also able to obtain statistics compiled by Facebook Ireland about page visits and visitors. This enables us to better and more effectively manage the marketing of our activities. In doing so, we may sometimes become aware of Facebook profiles of individual users who like our Fan Page and/or use applications on the site. This allows us to provide improved content and features to these users through our Facebook Fan Page.
To further improve content on our Facebook Fan Page, we may also use information we collect during your visit to perform demographic and geographic assessments based on that information. This enables us to place targeted, interest-based advertisements without immediately knowing your identity as a visitor.
If you use more than one device when visiting Facebook Ireland, data may be collected and analysed across devices if you visit our Fan Page as a registered Facebook user while logged-in to Facebook.
Visitor statistics compiled in this connection are forwarded to us solely in anonymised form. Access to the underlying data is not possible.
- Use of Insights and cookies
As part of our Fan Page, we use “Insights” provided by Facebook Ireland to obtain anonymous statistical data about visitors to our Fan Page.
When you visit our Fan Page, Facebook Ireland places a data package, a cookie, on your device for this purpose that contains an identifiable user code. The user code can be associated with your data if you are registered as a user on Facebook. The information stored in this context is processed by Facebook. It is also possible that third parties may use information from Facebook cookies to provide services to companies that advertise on Facebook.
The cookie is active for two years unless deleted at an earlier time.
You can find more information about Page Insights in the Page Insights addendum concluded between Facebook Ireland concerning responsibility for data processing:

D. Legal basis and legitimate interests for our data processing
We process personal data on the basis of our legitimate interests in effective interaction with Facebook users, visitors to our profile and in the context of communicating with Facebook users including our company profile pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
E. Sharing data and data transmission to the USA
When you visit our Fan Page, any data collected may be transferred to Facebook Inc. in the United States and processed there. An adequacy decision by the EU Commission, the EU-US Privacy Shield, is in place for data transmissions to the United States. In this decision, the Commission certified that the guarantees for the transfer of data to the United States on the basis of the EU-US Privacy Shield comply with data protection standards in the EU.
Facebook Inc. is certified under:

Should you no longer agree to the storage of your personal data or should this have become incorrect, we will arrange for the erasure or blocking of your data, or make the necessary corrections (to the extent that this is possible under applicable law), upon your request. The same applies if you would like us to restrict the processing of your data in future.

You can withdraw your consent at any time with future effect. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing conducted based on consent before its withdrawal.
Limitations
The rights described above do not apply to data for which we are not able to identify the data subject, e.g. if anonymised for analysis purposes. It may be possible to exercise your right of access and right to erasure, blocking, rectification or portability with regard to this data if you provide us with additional information that enables us to make the required identification.
Regarding joint responsibility for data processing
- General information
Based on agreements in place with Facebook Ireland that also relate to joint responsibility for data processing, from a practical standpoint it is best to address any requests for access and to assert any other rights to which you are entitled as a data subject directly to Facebook Ireland. Of course, we are ready to assist you at any time, and to comply with our obligations as controller.
